Media have a very important role in the world today. Media is everywhere, and most people rely on media alone. In the early centuries, audience like us are called reader. Wherein we, as the audience, are known for being passive in a way that there are no opinion from an audience that matters. Nonetheless, in our century today, audience are now called users which means that audience are no more passive, and is now active. Wherein we, as audience, are able to reach out to others by stating our own opinions on certain matters. Also, by being known now as users, we are able to contribute contents to platforms created by media.

Defining mass media, it refers to channels of communication that involve transmitting information in some way. shape, or form to large number of people. There are two ways of communication, the one-to-many communication: where information is gathered only from one source and transmitted to everybody; and the many-to-many communication: where information is obtained from different sources and then transmitted to everybody.

There exists three functions of mass media that is considered to be the most important: to inform, to educate, and to entertain. Now other functions come next.

TOURISM 2017

2107 is the International Year of Sustainable tourism for development and in line with this, there have been numerous seminars that discussed about the importance of this year's theme.
